GOALS AND PURPOSES

"You must try diligently to know everything! It is, of course, absolutely impossible in our times, but,
the more you know the harder it is to lie to you, the less you know the easier it is to lie to you!"

Alexis Dolgorukii

A Venue for the reconciliation of 21st century science with the existential exigencies of 21st century humankind. Everyone has questions. You do, I do. This is a place where we can come together and search for answers together. I know things, and you do too, let's make a synthesis of that knowledge. Then let's go onwards together to learn things no one knows now.

"What's done is done, and cannot be undone". Truer words were never spoken, BUT it is also true that when what has been done is harmful there is quite a bit that can be done to ameliorate that harm. That is the purpose for Parascience.   Now the question is: What "harmful thing" am I talking about?

Well, there are two completely interconnected "harmful things" that Parascience hopes to ameliorate. The first is the harmful effect that religion has had on Human freedom and growth. The second is to ameliorate the harmful effects that "popular occultism" has had on Human growth and development. Both of these phenomena result from what I call "the religious urge" that plagues human consciousness. Why do I call it a "plague"? Well, I do so because the results of this "urge" are far more harmful than any mere sickness.

What do I mean by that? Well basically the human "urge to religion" is probably best defined as an "urge to irresponsibility" people do not wish to be responsible for themselves or their actions and so they find a "higher power" to make responsible for them. The danger here, is that it is not a real thing. People, whether they like it or not, ARE totally responsible for themselves The most harmful thing any human can do to themselves is place themselves in a position of either ethical or intellectual subservience to any one or group. There have always been far too many people glad to avail themselves of the opportunity presented by "the religious urge" to attain power and profit and amusement by taking advantage of others.

Basically there is no real difference between the motivations and ideations of religion and occultism. The only difference is stylistic. The reasons most people turn to "popular occultism" and away from institutional religion, are these:.. Many "Occultists" are unrequited in their desire for ego-gratification in their relationship with institutional religion, whose hierarchies are after all both stratified and long established, and do not allow for instant gratification, where popular occultism not only allows it, but rather "instant gratification" is encouraged. A Catholic cannot become a Bishop without an immense amount of study, hard work and "time serving", while an "Occultist" can declare him or her self a Bishop (or it's equivalent) with no problem at all. It is equally true of Wiccan High Priests and Priestesses, no work or real qualifications necessary, just buy or make the "props" and "costumes" and declare yourself a "High Muckety Muck". Another problem is that both Religions and the various forms of "Popular Occultism" are all based entirely on untruths.

One of the greatest of untruths is that religion has been a civilizing factor for the human race. One need only look at Northern Ireland, India-Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Palestine-Israel to see how entirely untrue that is. The various religions and occultism all stridently claim to give valuable existential service to humanity, but that too isn't true, they simply have taught humanity to fear death.

The method I will use is education and demonstration. There is a positive thing that I want  to accomplish and that is the renovation and reinvigoration of the purposes served by the Mystery Temples, though not at all of the Temples themselves. It's what was taught through that medium that is important, the medium itself is hopelessly dated and would get in it's own way. What was taught through the medium of the "Mystery Tradition"? Simply this, by way of making abstractions comprehensible it demonstrated the nature of the human condition, the nature of the greater reality, and the context in which the human condition stands within the greater reality. What was right 2,000 years ago, is not right today. Humankind's existential needs change as the race evolves, to force humanity to keep to a millenniums old and out of date set of systems just to avoid "rocking the boat" or disturbing the status quo is an entirely negative goal.

My purpose  is to serve as a catalyst for change, an entirely ICONOCLASTIC CATALYST!!! But, it is very important not to forget that a catalyst utilizes a thing itself to create changes from within the thing itself. I am seeking evolutionary changes not revolutionary changes. Though when actuated they will seem to be revolutionary. Through Parascience I wish to provide information and experiences that people can utilize to make changes to themselves and their societies from within. The Science and Spirit Foundation's entire function is experiential-educational. I have neither the intention nor the desire to impose change from without. I am not interested in "belief" but in knowledge. Knowledge, is the most powerful of all catalysts!

There is one fact that is paramount in my own life, and in and to, Parascience..... That fact is this:

THE MORE A PERSON KNOWS, THE MORE DIFFICULT IT IS TO LIE TO THEM!

Religion, and it's "poor relation", Popular Occultism have done enough lying. It's time for humanity to come out of the shadows and mists fostered by religion and occultism and stand in the light.
